Crop Diversification to Control Powdery Mildew in Pea

نویسندگان

چکیده

Pea is a temperate grain legume cultivated worldwide that can be severely constrained by powdery mildew infection. Control fungicides and the use of resistant cultivars possible, but there growing interest in alternative control methods such as crop diversification, particularly low input agriculture. The aim this work was to assess potential intercropping pea with other crops cultivar mixtures for management on crop. Results show reduction when intercropped replacement at 50:50 ratio barley or faba bean, not wheat. A barrier effect seems explain major part decrease, especially pea/barley intercrop. This hypothesis further supported inoculated seedlings under controlled conditions, where infection decreased distance inoculation point, decrease being larger intercrop than wheat monocrop. Powdery also reduced mixture susceptible cultivars, decreasing increasing proportions one. Overall, shows diversification may good strategy reduce pea.

Control of Erysiphe pisi Causing Powdery Mildew of Pea (Pisum sativum) by Cashewnut (Anacardium occidentale) Shell Extract

The effect of methanolic extract of cashewnut (Anacardium occidentale) shell extract was seen on conidial germination of Erysiphe pisi and powdery mildew development in pea (Pisum sativum). Maximum conidial germination inhibition of E. pisi on glass slides was observed at 300 ppm. Similar effect on floated pea leaves was observed after 48 h at the same concentration. Conidial germination on int...

An Arabidopsis mutant with enhanced resistance to powdery mildew.

We have identified an Arabidopsis mutant that displays enhanced disease resistance to the fungus Erysiphe cichoracearum, causal agent of powdery mildew. The edr1 mutant does not constitutively express the pathogenesis-related genes PR-1, BGL2, or PR-5 and thus differs from previously described disease-resistant mutants of Arabidopsis. E. cichoracearum conidia (asexual spores) germinated normall...

Association mapping for resistance to powdery mildew in oriental tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum L.) germplasm

Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe cichoracearum is an important fungal disease which threatens tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) production. The objective of this study was to determine DNA markers linked to genomic regions associated with resistance to powdery mildew in tobacco through the association mapping approach. Seventy tobacco geno-types were fingerprinted using 26 simple se-quence repeat...
